The Cat

     Everyone has good friends in his or her life.  I have a best friend, and he is not a human but an animal. I did not consider him as a good partner until he was gone. Later, I found him so weak and then I realized that I have to seize the time to befriend with him. I have a good partner that was always beside me and is exactly dispensable for me—my cat.

      I took in my cat on a roadside near my house six years ago. That was a hot weather day and I walked by a box which had a dirty cat in it. When I saw the cat, I fell in love at first sight with the cat. Then, I took him to my home, and bathed for him. It was a clean, cute, and smiley cat. My family loved him so much. However, I was fed up with the cat some days later, and really wanted to ignore him because he walked and sat beside me all the time. It seemed that I started to yell to the cat gradually. How bad I was!

      Someday the cat meowed to me because of hunger, and then ran away from the house. At first, he meowed to me and looked it was hungry. I thought he was annoying and I shouted at him without thinking. After that, the cat may felt too hungry to endure, so he ran out of the house and paid no attention to me anymore. I thought my cat would come back soon after finding something to eat. Therefore, I entered my house and sat down calmly. After five minutes, suddenly there was a noisy sound outside. I felt anxious at that time, and then I ran out of the house immediately to see the condition. It was a car accident but there was a cat lay under the car and it is bleeding. “It is my CAT!” I shouted loudly. I cannot stop crying and picked the cat up. I took the cat to the animal hospital.

      I blamed myself not take good care of my cat. The veterinarian told me that the cat was so weak that he may not have strong energy in the future. The cat’s bone was broken, so he might not jump or walk. The cat was meowing to me in the hospital bed. I fed him some food and water until he felt better. After one day, I took the cat to my home. I realized that I could not have no cat in my life. Formerly, the cat always sat and walked beside me even I yelled at him. Now, he was seriously hurt, so he can only lie on the sofa and gazed at me tenderly. I felt guilty that I did not take care of him and even ignored what he was meowing for.

      After this accident, I realized the importance of treasuring my cat. People often do not treasure their friends, families, and animals. Until something happened, I would see the significance of creature’s life. I took the cat to my home six years ago, so I had the responsibility to take care of him. I did not do that before. So, I will do my best to take care of the cat. He is not only my family member but also my treasure.
